Agile Boot Camp – 4 hrs
With the widespread adoption of agile methods such as Scrum, Extreme Programming, and OpenUP throughout the business world, more and more non-IT people are being drawn in to these new agile processes. For non-IT folk, the terminology, roles, and expectations are new and often confusing. What exactly is expected of a project sponsor, business analyst, or business subject matter expert in the agile paradigm? This session will teach non-IT project participants how their role changes in an agile world. Special emphasis is given to developing schedules, financial baselines, and various governance mechanisms for agile projects, always focusing on the needs of the business over those of the IT development organization.
This course is ideally suited to project sponsors, product owners working in a Scrum environment, and business analysts who will be (or already are) working on agile projects. In-class examples will be primarily based on IT projects.

For Project Team Members Only – 4 hrs (1-day version also available)
Are you or your team members asked to;
- Provide realistic estimates for task duration or cost — when you have little or no prior experience with such tasks?
- Work on projects while still keeping up with your operational responsibilities?
- Reduce what you consider to be realistic estimates in order to meet an imposed deadline?
These are just some of the issues project team members typically face on a regular basis. This workshop focuses specifically on the issues and responsibilities project team members (not project managers) face when involved in a project. The course helps team members facilitate a greater overall degree of projects success, while at the same time creating a less stressful and more rewarding experience.
